Description

Up for sale is an excellent cult macro lens, the Elicar V-HQ Macro MC 90mm f/2.5. This rare cult classic lens is manufactured by the Komine corporation, and is optically identical to the Vivitar 90mm Auto Telephoto macro of the same pecs, which along with the 135mm close focusing and 55mm Auto Macro, comprises 1/3 of the so-called "holy trinity" of Komine-made Vivitar/Panagor /Elicar macros. The Elicar branding is the rarest of all the variants of this lens, and was sold under this branding as a dental lens, as evidenced by the dental guide stickers on the barrel of the lens It is capable of extremely sharp 1:1 macro images, with fantastic color and clarity. Lens is in lovely vintage condition with very light exterior wear, excellent mechanics, and glass free of scratches/haze/fungus. One of the nicest examples of this lens I have ever come across. This lens features the Contax/Yashica C/Y bayonet mount which can be used natively on Yashica and Contax film SLRs from the 1970's and 80's. It also can easily be adapted for manual use on most popular DSLR, and mirrorless formats with an inexpensive adapter ring (sold separately, see chart below for digital compatibility).
